About the event

Protective Services Training Center's Tactical Baton Certification program is a comprehensive use-of-force training course designed to prepare armed security professionals with the skills, judgment, and confidence necessary to safely deploy a baton in real-world security situations. Built around modern defensive tactics principles and industry best practices, the program combines legal education, tactical movement, weapon retention, and scenario-based training into an intensive certification experience that exceeds the expectations of traditional security guard instruction.

This 8-hour tactical baton course provides students with a complete understanding of the baton as an intermediate force option within the Use of Force continuum. Participants are trained to recognize when baton deployment is legally justified, how to apply force proportionally, and how to minimize injury while restoring control during volatile encounters. The curriculum emphasizes professionalism, accountability, and tactical restraint, ensuring that officers understand both the physical and legal responsibilities associated with carrying an impact weapon.
